Everyday Matters.
After starting Danny Gregory's book "Creative License" I joined the Everyday Matters sketch group on Facebook. There is a suggested drawing list, an "EDM" list if you will and I think I will start from the beginning. Not sure I will hit every suggestion and hopefully I will journal with some of them but for now these are just sketches.
1. A shoe
2. A desk lamp
3. A wallet or purse

My trusty hat.

Almost every summer that I can remember before I was 16 we would drive to Florida and visit my grandparents. Both sets lived in the same town as well as my aunt so it was always a nice visit. My grandmother on my father's side was an accomplished artist, mainly working in watercolor. As a youngster I was never interested and I really regret that now. She was fantastic and taught at the collegiate level. So my father is considering moving to a smaller home and my brother and I went through his house with him this weekend. Among a number of other things I found this travel art bag that was my grandmothers. There is also about $300 worth of watercolor paper in 24x36 sheets. My father let me take the bag as he is not planning on doing any watercolor.
I love you Olivia Lay, and you to dad!

After seeing a fellow sketcher's drawings on a phone book background I could not resist getting out my pocket calendar from last year and start drawing faces.
Drawn with various Sharpie markers and col-erase Carmine Red pencil.

More art materials.

So after I vacuumed the floor I decided to sketch the cleaner. I melded different stages of the drawing. Sketch, Photo after painting, Scan after journaling then a little playing around with Photoshop. Lex Gray ink in Lamy Pen on Stillman & Birn Alpha sketchbook with watercolor.
